Safety Program

Commercial painting often involves more than ladders and brushes. Our work may include lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, respirators, surface preparation, coatings, solvents, exterior access, occupied buildings, and coordination with other trades. National Decorating Service approaches each project with safety planning, trained field personnel, and jobsite awareness from start to finish.

Our safety program is designed to support safe execution across a wide range of project conditions, including interior painting, exterior painting, wallcovering, restoration, industrial coatings, specialty finishes, and maintenance work. We focus on identifying hazards early, using the right equipment, following jobsite requirements, and maintaining clear communication with project teams.

Painter Training & Certifications

Our painters bring more than field experience to the job. As part of a union-trained workforce, they receive structured training, practical instruction, and jobsite experience that supports safe, high-quality work. This training helps our team perform in commercial environments where access, surface preparation, coatings, scheduling, and safety requirements can vary from project to project.

Painter credentials may include:

  • OSHA 10 / OSHA 30

  • First Aid / CPR / AED

  • Fall Protection

  • Scaffold User / Scaffold Competent Person

Union-Trained Workforce

As a union signatory painting contractor, National Decorating Service is supported by a workforce trained through the Painters District Council #14 / IUPAT system. This gives our clients access to painters who are trained in the core skills of the trade, including surface preparation, painting, wallcovering, coatings, safety, access equipment, and specialty applications.

Union training matters because commercial painting is not one-size-fits-all. A project may require detailed finish work in a high-end interior, durable coatings in a high-traffic area, exterior access on a multi-story building, or careful restoration work on a historic surface. Our workforce is prepared to meet those demands with the training, professionalism, and accountability expected on commercial jobsites.

Insurance, Bonding & Project Readiness
