Project Gallery

We are currently working on a number of important projects, of which we are proud to be a part, and the list keeps growing.

Featured Projects

  • Wrigley Field

National Decorating has a long history working with the Tribune Company, so it’s only natural that we have become the official painters of the Chicago Cubs. Each spring, Wrigley Field gives us a cleanup budget to make necessary improvements. This relationship works because the client trusts us to assess their needs honestly. We never cut corners, and we enjoy coming back year after year, because we, and the client, love what we do.

  • Prudential Plaza

National Decorating has been working on Prudential Plaza since it was built in 1955. Given the building’s square footage, it’s no mystery why there’s a tremendous amount of tenant work and general maintenance within the common areas that needs to be addressed. We start at the top and work our way down, just as we’ve been doing for nearly 60 years at this site. It’s a longstanding account we are very proud of.

  • Holy Name Cathedral

Holy Name Cathedral is another National account with a long history. The Cathedral contains a number of fine finishes, and we have men who have been working with these applications for decades. Several years ago, National worked the Cathedral from the top down – a job that required a complicated rigging system. The Cathedral has a natural wood finish on its ceiling, and though the company wasn’t contracted to work on the wood, once we took a closer look we realized that the finish needed help. We cleaned, polished, and re-lamped it. We gave the Cathedral back its glow.

  • U505 Submarine

Our painters put a whole lot of elbow grease into the U505 Submarine at the Museum of Science and Industry, and it shows. We took the time to scrape it and prime it before painting, and that is why the finish still looks great. At National, we know that doing the job right from the beginning is always worth the extra effort.

  • Presidential Towers Chicago

National did all of the exterior work on Presidential Towers. That exterior is a great example of the value of a Modac product – a permeable waterproofing finish that lets the concrete breathe while still protecting it from the elements.

  • Renaissance Blackstone Hotel

In 2007, the Blackstone underwent extensive renovations after years of neglect. National refinished all of the hotel’s woodwork and helped restore those old finishes to their former glory.

  • Ritz-Carlton Chicago

About two years ago, the Ritz-Carlton underwent extensive renovations. National was in charge of the interior, and we refinished every guest room and suite.
