Our Commitment

Commitment to Service

National Decorating Service is family owned and operated. Our first documented job in the Chicago area was the Jackson Park Golf Course Clubhouse. It was the first in a long line of projects involving important and often historical Chicago landmarks, such as Wrigley Field, Holy Name Cathedral, and the u505 Submarine at the Museum of Science and Industry.

We are a full-service union painting and decorating contractor that employs painters from District Council 14 Chicago and District council 30 Northern Illinois of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. Our painters and decorators, many descended from generations of craftsmen, have all served as apprentices, training in all aspects of the painting and decorating industry for years prior to becoming journeymen.

Our company has been serving Chicago for nearly one hundred years. The quality of our employees and our decades of experience guarantee beautiful, lasting results. From exterior coatings to fine interior finishes, National Decorating does it all.

Commitment to Safety

Safety is a non-negotiable mandate, essential to the welfare of our company and our clients.

National is extremely proud of its safety record. We have no OSHA citations on our record and our NCCI experience modification has remained well below the standard of 1.00 for our industry. We use modern safety equipment and maintain an ever-evolving company safety program to promote a safe and productive work environment.

At National Decorating, we have a very proactive safety policy. In addition to the OSHA safety training provided by the union, National provides its own safety programs and training to all of its painters. We demand that all of our painters take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe, efficient workplace.
